Guten Tag allerseits,
Its been so long since I have written a post! I don't even know if anyone reads this anymore. But since I've been asked by a few people to start writing again, I am now writting a new post! This week is my reading week and I have visited a few different places! On Monday, I went on a tour with two of my friends to Stonehenge and Bath, which I thought was amazing! I was told by a few people that Stonehenge is not as cool as you might imagine, but I personally really enjoyed it. The audio tour was a bit disappointing though. As for the city of Bath, it was really cool to see the Roman baths and the city itself was extremely beautiful!
For the rest of reading week, I travelled to Berlin, Germany (where I am now writing this post) to visit Linda, a friend I worked with over the summer. My first impression of Berlin was that people were all really nice here and that it was much much cleaner than London! When I was meeting Linda after getting to Berlin, I asked a stranger to borrow his phone and he just gave it to me right away! I spent the first day in Berlin at Alexanderplatz where I saw the famous TV tower and the Weltuhr! I also saw the Berlin town hall and some really old churches! Some other things I did in Berlin include: visiting the Berlin wall, Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate, seeing the Olympic Stadium, eating pretzels, currywurst, and döner, playing UNO and Taboo in German, learning how to count from 1 to 11 in German, getting free cooking lessons from Linda and meeting up with some other Davidson folks who are in Berlin right now! I still have all of today and tomorrow in Berlin and am not sure what I will do yet. But I have really enjoyed the city and Linda has been such a great host! On an unrelated note, it has been freezing here!
Well, that's it for now from Germany. I still have so much to write about being in England the last month but I should probably get off Linda's computer now so she can finish writing her thesis. I plan to write a longer post in the next week talking about my past month in England!
I hope all of you guys are doing well and sorry for such a long delay!

Jesus, I my cross have taken,
All to leave and follow Thee.
Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou from hence my all shall be.
Perish every fond ambition,
All I’ve sought or hoped or known.
Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.
All to leave and follow Thee.
Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou from hence my all shall be.
Perish every fond ambition,
All I’ve sought or hoped or known.
Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.
Let the world despise and leave me,
They have left my Savior, too.
Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like them, untrue.
O while Thou dost smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate and friends disown me,
Show Thy face and all is bright.
They have left my Savior, too.
Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like them, untrue.
O while Thou dost smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate and friends disown me,
Show Thy face and all is bright.
Man may trouble and distress me,
’Twill but drive me to Thy breast.
Life with trials hard may press me;
Heaven will bring me sweeter rest.
Oh, ’tis not in grief to harm me
While Thy love is left to me;
Oh, ’twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with Thee.
’Twill but drive me to Thy breast.
Life with trials hard may press me;
Heaven will bring me sweeter rest.
Oh, ’tis not in grief to harm me
While Thy love is left to me;
Oh, ’twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with Thee.
Go, then, earthly fame and treasure,
Come disaster, scorn and pain
In Thy service, pain is pleasure,
With Thy favor, loss is gain
I have called Thee Abba Father,
I have stayed my heart on Thee
Storms may howl, and clouds may gather;
All must work for good to me.
Come disaster, scorn and pain
In Thy service, pain is pleasure,
With Thy favor, loss is gain
I have called Thee Abba Father,
I have stayed my heart on Thee
Storms may howl, and clouds may gather;
All must work for good to me.
Soul, then know thy full salvation
Rise o’er sin and fear and care
Joy to find in every station,
Something still to do or bear.
Think what Spirit dwells within thee,
Think what Father’s smiles are thine,
Think that Jesus died to win thee,
Child of heaven, canst thou repine.
Rise o’er sin and fear and care
Joy to find in every station,
Something still to do or bear.
Think what Spirit dwells within thee,
Think what Father’s smiles are thine,
Think that Jesus died to win thee,
Child of heaven, canst thou repine.
Haste thee on from grace to glory,
Armed by faith, and winged by prayer.
Heaven’s eternal days before thee,
God’s own hand shall guide us there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days,
Hope shall change to glad fruition,
Faith to sight, and prayer to praise.
Armed by faith, and winged by prayer.
Heaven’s eternal days before thee,
God’s own hand shall guide us there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days,
Hope shall change to glad fruition,
Faith to sight, and prayer to praise.
